Development Manager (Delivery)

We are working with PA Housing, an award winning social housing provider dedicated to delivering high quality housing and first class services to residents.  Currently managing 24,000 homes across the Midlands, London, Home Counties and the South East, the organisation has ambitious plans to grow.

To help achieve their exciting development plans they are looking for an experienced Development Manager to lead the project management of a number of smaller and medium sized new residential developments.

You will manage schemes from inception through to completion, ensuring all development projects are delivered to the required time, cost and quality standards.  Although some site visits are required across London and the Southeast, PA Housing supports flexible working with the option to work from home.

The role involves:

  • Project managing a number of smaller scale and less complex housing development schemes of all tenures, including Rent, Shared Ownership and Private Sale.
  • Managing and motivating any Assistant Project Mangers/Project Manager reporting to you.
  • Problem solving any technical, contractual and design issues.
  • Planning and managing a portfolio of projects to ensure schemes are delivered on time and to budget and meet the highest quality standard.
  • Providing regular performance information (scheme progress, risk analysis, and expenditure against budget) and programme update reports.
  • Appointing and leading teams of consultants and contractors and monitoring their performance.

We really want to hear from you if you:

  • Have 5 years’ experience of managing the delivery of land led and Section 106 developments from inception to completion, and through into defects.
  • Are educated to degree level or have the ability to demonstrate good technical knowledge of building design, procurement and construction technology.
  • Have experience of new scheme procurement and of managing consultants and contractors in a regeneration or construction environment.
  • Have experience of working with a Registered Social Landlord or property developer delivering new build or high value maintenance projects.
  • Are a member of a professional body e.g. RICS, CIOB, CIH.
  • Possess strong financial acumen and are experienced in carrying out financial appraisals.
  • Have a clean full driving licence and use of a car for frequent travel and regular site visits.
