High salary is no longer enough say job seekers

Research has shown that work-life balance is as important as pay when it comes to looking for a new job – and our current development opportunities (based in London and Warwick) offer the option to work from home 3 days a week as well as very competitive salaries.

In a study conducted by CEMS – a global alliance of management education institutions – job seekers said that a high salary is no longer enough.

While across the board, work-life balance and salary were ranked equally, professionals over the age of 35 actually ranked the opportunity for work-life balance higher than salary.

As executive search experts we are increasingly finding this to be true, as more and more candidates are interested in flexible working and the ability to work from home. Obviously salary is important, but work is not all about money and the majority of people we talk to tell us that achieving a good work/life balance is a key factor in deciding whether to apply or accept a new role.

Maintaining a work-life balance has been shown to help reduce stress which is one of the most common health issues in the workplace. So it’s no wonder that more jobseekers are actively seeking out roles that offer flexibility, home working options and other ways to create a better balance between working and family life.

Currently, we are delighted to be working with a leading housing association who believes in the importance of agile working contracts.  We are looking for Project Managers, Development Managers and Senior Development Managers and all roles offer the option to work from home 3 days a week.
